National Championships in Novice and Synchronized Skating

Skate Canada Nova Scotia is thrilled to have skaters travelling to Calgary this week for the National Championships in Novice and Synchronized Skating

The Novice skaters were to compete in January, but due to Covid was delayed until now.

JACOB COTE from the Dartmouth Skating Club qualified to go to the Novice Men’s National Championship this past December in Regina and has been working hard ever since to be ready for this opportunity.

Jacob finished 5th in the short and 3rd in the free to finish 5th overall at Challenge in Regina.

This was the original date for the National Synchronized Championships, but the Axe-Elles from Acadia University have had their challenges also, due to Covid, as they could not practice as a team, as only 10 skaters were allowed to be together on the ice and were not allowed to attend any competitions.

Both events will be livestreamed, check the skatecanada.ca for more details.

The Short Program for the Novice Men is Saturday February 26th 19:05 to 21:05 and the Free Program Sunday 16:15 to 18:50

The Axe-Elles will skate at 11:50 on Saturday in the Open category and Sunday between 10:30 and 11:30

We are extremely proud of our Nova Scotia Skaters and wish them the Best of Luck in Calgary!
